Frozen Dreams

Every night, sucked in and chewed up
Every morning, excreted once again
After being digested through the bowels
Of the snow covered beast

The cold darkness embraces
And won't let go
Until all debts have been paid
And all nutrients extracted

It squeezes the soul
And takes what it needs to survive
Takes all drive and ambition
Consumes all desire and passion

And leaves only what little life there is
And all its frozen dreams
